Students will be encouraged to practice digital humanities, making use of a range of data and tools to advance their digital humanities and media studies in line with their own interests.
In this course, as an advanced application of the Fundamentals of Electronic Media Studies (Advanced Course in Digital Humanities and Media Studies 3), lectures and practical exercises will be conducted on various research topics in Digital Humanities. Specifically, the course will cover practical approaches to building digital archives, geographic information analysis using GIS software, data mining with plain text data in both Japanese and English, and the structuring and analysis of data based on TEI/XML.

本講義は、「人文情報・メディア学特論３: 電子メディア基礎論」（2024年度開講）で扱った人文学研究資料の情報やデータ入手・作成・管理手法については習得済みを前提とするが、「人文情報・メディア学特論３: 電子メディア基礎論」の受講を前提とはしない。また、本講義は、様々な研究実践を受講生各自の関心に基づいて行うことから、受講生は各自の専門分野に関する基礎的な知識とともに、それに基づいた人文学研究上の問いを設定する力が求められる。
受講にあたってはPCが必須である。
講義の進捗に合わせ、授業計画を変更する可能性がある。
また、この科目は「英語に関連する科目」です。使用言語は英語ではありませんが英語のテキストやデータベースを用いて授業を行うバイリンガルの設定となっています。使用する資料等については上記の「テキスト」「参考文献」の欄で確認してください。
受講者は、様々なデータやツールを活用しながら、デジタルヒューマニティーズの実践を行うことで、それぞれの関心に沿った人文情報・メディア学の研究を進めることができるようになる。

本講義では、「人文情報・メディア学特論３: 電子メディア基礎論」の応用編として、デジタルヒューマニティーズの様々な研究トピックに関する講義と実践を行う。具体的には、デジタルアーカイブの構築実践、GISソフトウェア等を活用した地理情報分析、日本語および英語のプレーンテキストデータを利用したデータマイニング、TEI/XMLに基づくデータの構造化およびその分析を行う想定である。
In this course, as an advanced application of the Fundamentals of Electronic Media Studies (Advanced Course in Digital Humanities and Media Studies 3), lectures and practical exercises will be conducted on various research topics in Digital Humanities.
