(1) To be able to understand Chinese writing as an ancient Chinese language (i.e., a foreign language) and its basic grammatical structure.
(2) To be able to add punctuation marks to Chinese texts by oneself.
(3) To be able to read actual Japanese Kanbun texts with a linguistic knowledge of Kanbun.
(4) Learn the basics of the rules of Chinese poetry and how to appreciate Chinese poetry analytically.
Based on the linguistic knowledge of Chinese texts, students will actually read and understand Chinese texts that have had a strong influence on the history of Japanese classical literature.
Students will also learn the basic rules of Chinese poetry and appreciate poems composed by Japanese poets.

講義の大部分は語学的な内容ですので、知識を積み重ねた上で、その知識を運用して身に慣れさせていく粘り強さを求めます。
（1）漢文を古代中国語（つまり外国語）として捉え、その基本的な文法構造が理解できるようになる。
（2）漢文に自分で返り点（レ点・一二点など）を付けられるようになる。
（3）実際の漢文を語学的な知識に基づいて読むことができるようになる。
（4）漢詩のルールの基礎を学び、漢詩を分析的に鑑賞する方法を身につける。

漢文に関する語学的知識を踏まえた上で、実際に日本古典文学史上において強い影響力を持った漢文テクストを読解していきます。
また漢詩についてもその基本的なルールを学び、日本漢詩人による詩作を鑑賞します。
