To be able to understand the economic growth and social changes in Japan. To be able to think about current socioeconomic issues from a historical perspective.
This course will focus on the economic and social changes in Japan from the Meiji era to the period of rapid economic growth, and how individuals have lived amidst these changes. After reviewing the trends of the Japanese economy in each period, we will look at the aspects of each industry, region, and individuals.

日本の経済成長と社会の変化について理解できるようになる。現在の社会経済をめぐる諸問題について、歴史的な観点から考えられるようになる。

この授業では、明治から高度経済成長期の日本における経済と社会の変化、及びそのなかで諸個人がどのように生きていたのかを扱います。時期ごとの日本経済の動向を概観した上で、産業や地域、諸個人の様相についてみていきます。
This course will focus on the economic and social changes in Japan from the Meiji era to the period of rapid economic growth, and how individuals have lived amidst these changes.
