| 備考/ NotesNotes |
Students will improve their communication skills in English by participating in group discussions in class based on questions accompanying their weekly reading assignments. They will also develop their writing skills in completing an essay of 1000-1200 words based on the text studied in class.
Eliza Doolittle, an illiterate flower girl in London's Covent Garden, dreams of becoming a proper lady who works in a real flower shop. Professor Higgins takes on the challenge to tutor her in speech and manners, wagering that in six months, she will pass for a duchess. In this course we will explore themes such as language as a class barrier as well as appearance and identity. Students are required to prepare the assigned reading and participate in class activities. An oral presentation is also required.
