【Course Objectives】

Students will learn about foundation of literature, culture, and language in German speaking areas. At the same time, students will receive trainings in information gathering, oral presentation, reporting, creation of lesson records, and discussion.

【Course Contents】

Same as spring semester, all class members will study specific parts of their textbooks before lesson. Each time, selected members will lead discussion and critique about that specific parts. Students will create and submit protocols for one lesson of Introduction to Cultures in German Speaking Areas 2. At the same time, students will find themes about German literature, culture, and language they are interested in. Students will then gather and organize information about these subjects, before submitting their individual reports at the end of semester. To find their themes, students will refer to contents and textbooks used in the following lessons : Introduction to Cultures in German Speaking Areas 1, Introduction to Cultures in German Speaking Areas (the spring semester,) or Introduction to Cultures in German Speaking Areas 2 (the fall semester). In addition, students should bear in mind that expressing their opinions during discussion and proactive participation are required for attendance records.
