Students will recheck their German knowledge learnt up to spring semester of the second year. Students will supplement unlearnt grammars and cultivate their German comprehension skill.

【Course Contents】

Following Preliminary Seminars in German 3 of spring semester, students will read carefully about anthology of short articles of various genres. Students will acquire comprehension skills necessary to research literature, language, and culture.
Students will do preliminary study before each class. Students will receive German to Japanese translation assignment in each class. The class will advance by focusing on areas where students found difficult or made mistakes frequently. In this class, students will play the main roles. They will not only read and interpret texts, but also refer to transcription and oral recital by native speakers. Based on these, they will practice oral recital, word form, and sentence construction.
Same as spring semester, students must carry Handbuch Der Deutschen Grammatik authored by Yuji Nakajima and others (revised edition) (Hakusuisha Publishing 2003 at 1,600 yen + tax), German Japanese dictionary, and Introductory German textbook Mit Takao und Jürgen durch Würzburg.
