Students will major German literature and cultural studies, search their own research topic to write graduation thesis. They will research materials, give presentations, discuss about their topics and write their thesis in the future.
In the autumn semester, students will both present their individual research projects and read some theoretical as well as literary texts.
They will also have group discussions about those texts.
For the individual research project, students will search materials, give a presentation about their own topics and write an essay at the end of semester.
They will learn to research many kinds of materials in the university library such as dictionaries, lexika, newspapers in German and in Japanese,audio-visual materials like DVD, academic magazines etc.
After expolring the university library, they should write a short report about what they found in the library.

ドイツ語圏を対象とする文学研究・文化研究に入門し、各自の卒論へとつながるテーマを探す。参加者との討論をおこないながら、資料調査・口頭発表・執筆へと進んでいく。
Students will major German literature and cultural studies, search their own research topic to write graduation thesis. They will research materials, give presentations, discuss about their topics and write their thesis in the future.
各参加者の個人研究と、共通文献購読の二種類の活動を並行して行う。
個人研究については、関心テーマに沿って文献調査を行い、その成果を口頭発表し、レポートにまとめる。テーマ選択は、教員との相談のうえ決定する。
担当教員の研究上の関心領域は主に下記のとおり。
１ ジェンダー表象（文学における女性像／男性像、家族・親族をめぐる表現など）、フェミニズム
２ 東ドイツ（ドイツ民主共和国1949-1990）の文学・映画、東ドイツ崩壊後の問題
３ 歴史的できごとの記憶と想起に関する文学・文化
ゼミ生の研究テーマはこれに縛られる必要はない。
このほか、大学図書館にあるさまざまな種類の文献（辞書、事典、日本語とドイツ語の新聞、学術雑誌、視聴覚コーナーのDVD、研究書など）を調査する練習も行う。
