We will focus on movies dealing with Adolf Hitler, paying attention to the visual and audio expressions, and analyze the characteristics of the image of Hitler in each movie in light of its social and historical background.
We will watch two movies during Hitler's lifetime and three movies from the 2000s onward that deal with Hitler as a major figure, and examine the characteristics of the image of Hitler in each movie from various perspectives, including the social and historical background, visual techniques, and the relationship between images and sound/music. The films that we will feature were mainly produced and released in German-speaking countries and in which German is the main language, but Chaplin's “The Great Dictator,” which does not fall under this category, will also be discussed as an important reference point.

アドルフ・ヒトラーを扱った映像作品を取り上げ、映像・音声表現に留意し、社会的・時代的背景に照らして各映像作品におけるヒトラー像の特質を分析する。

アドルフ・ヒトラーを主要人物として扱った多くの映像作品からヒトラー存命中のもの2点、2000年代以降のもの3点を題材とし、映像資料を視聴しながら作品の社会的・歴史的背景、映像技法、映像と音／音楽の関係などの諸側面に鑑み、各作品におけるヒトラー像の特質を多角的に考察する。なお、扱う映像作品はドイツ語圏で制作・公開され、ドイツ語が主要言語であるものを中心とするが、これに該当しないチャップリンの『独裁者』も重要な参照項として取り上げる。
