The purpose of this course is to help students acquire basic knowledge about the contemporary French society, and learn how to search literature, make presentations, and write reports.
Students will read materials on French history, religion, politics, gender, art, and other topics, and compare them with those of Japan in order to capture their characteristics. The first few classes will be lecture-style, but after that, the class will focus on student presentations.
Students will be divided into groups to give presentations on the specified topics, which will be followed by a question-and-answer session and discussion. At the end of the semester, students will be asked to choose a theme of interest and submit a report on it.

現代フランス社会について基本的な知識を身につける。問いを立てることを意識しながら、文献検索方法、発表の手法、レポート作成方法を習得する。
The purpose of this course is to help students acquire basic knowledge about the contemporary French society, and learn how to search literature, make presentations, and write reports.
この授業ではフランスの歴史、宗教、政治、ジェンダー、芸術などのテーマを扱った資料を読み、日本と比較しながらその特徴をつかんでいきます。最初の数回の授業は講義形式としますが、その後は受講者の発表を中心に進みます。
いくつかのグループに分かれ指定されたテーマについて発表し、それをもとに受講者間で質疑応答やディスカッションを行います。学期末には関心のあるテーマを選択し、それにかんしてレポートを提出してもらいます。
