Through translated works, students will be exposed to French literature and learn techniques that will serve as a basis for reading literary works, especially novels.
In this class, as a first step toward French literature, the students will be given the task of objectively analyzing how a story is structured and how language is used, using specific short stories and excerpts. The course will cover several texts from French romance novels from the Middle Ages to the present day, and students will be assigned to one of these works in groups according to their own interests. The student in charge will first give a summary of the text and then analyze it from his/her own point of view. All other students are required to read and think about the relevant sections of the text prior to the class, and then discuss them as a whole. Finally, at the end of the class, students are required to summarize their thoughts on a comment card and submit it to the instructor, so active participation is required.

翻訳された作品を通して，フランスの文学に触れ，小説を中心とする文学作品を読むための基礎となる技法を学ぶ。
Through translated works, students will be exposed to French literature and learn techniques that will serve as a basis for reading literary works, especially novels.
この授業では，まず最初に，フランス文学への第一歩として，具体的に短編や抜粋を用いて，物語がどのように構成されているのか，言葉がどのように用いられているのかを，客観的に分析するという作業を行います。中世から現代にいたるフランスの恋愛小説からいくつかのテクストをとりあげるので，受講者は，各自の興味に応じて，いずれかの作品を選び，グループとなって担当します。担当者は，まずテクストを要約的に紹介し，それから各自の視点から分析します。担当者以外の受講者も，事前に必ず作品の該当する部分を読み，考えてきたうえで，全体で議論を行います。最後に授業の終わりにコメントカードに自らの考えをまとめ提出するという流れで進めるので，積極的な参加が必要です。
