This course compares works by women writers who wrote in French from the seventeenth to the twentieth centuries.
Continuing from the spring semester, this course offers a comparative reading of works by French women writers and women writers who write in French, appreciating these texts while paying close attention to social transformations. Through the analysis of literary works, students will also reflect on the nature of creative writing itself. The authors studied include Simone de Beauvoir, Françoise Sagan, George Sand, Delphine de Girardin, Olympe de Gouges, and Madame de Lafayette. While examining how these writers advocate women’s independence and solidarity, the course also considers the act of creation as a process of shaping narratives with a conscious awareness of the reader.

17世紀から20世紀にかけてフランス語で執筆した女性作家の作品を読み比べる。
This course compares works by women writers who wrote in French from the seventeenth to the twentieth centuries.
春学期に続いて、フランス人女性作家およびフランス語で執筆する女性作家たちの作品を読み比べ、社会の変遷にも留意しながら作品を味わう。また作品の分析を通して、創作とは何かについて考える。扱う作家は、ボーヴォワール、フランソワーズ・サガン、ジョルジュ・サンド、デルフィーヌ・ド・ジラルダン、オランプ・ド・グージュ、ラファイエット夫人。女性の自立や連帯を訴えながらも、読者を意識して物語を編んでゆく創作という行為についても考えたい。
