Merimee’s "Carmen" and the notion of the "Femme Fatale"
What is the “Femme Fatale”? Why a seductive woman is blamed? We will examine this notion by reading “Carmen”. In addition to introductory lectures, readings and homework, students will create group presentations as well. Students are free to choose related topics when they draw up their reports at the end of the semester.

メリメ『カルメン』を読み、ファム・ファタルについて考える
Merimee’s "Carmen" and the notion of the "Femme Fatale"
ファム・ファタル（宿命の女）とは何なのか？魅力的な女、男を亡ぼす女は「悪女」なのか？前期は19世紀の社会背景を考えながら『カルメン』を丁寧に読み解くとともに、ファム・ファタル概念のジェンダー的意味について考える。オペラ版やバレエ版との比較も行う。
導入の講義に続いて、作品の講読や検討、さらに学生発表を行う。期末レポートは関連する主題で各自が執筆する。一部フランス語の文章を使用。
