The medieval French literature and the mysogyny
We will read some French misogynic textes of the Medieval Ages, like “Le Roman de la Rose”, “Quinze joies de Mariage” and “L’Art d’aimer”, and then examine the “Debate on the Roman de la Rose” of Christine de Pizan. In addition to introductory lectures, readings and homework, students will create group presentations as well. Students are free to choose related topics when they draw up their reports at the end of the semester.

中世の諸作品を読み、当時のミソジニー（女性蔑視）および女性の側からの反論について考える
The medieval French literature and the mysogyny
中世フランスの『薔薇物語』、『結婚十五の歓び』、『恋愛技法』などの女性蔑視文学を概括するとともに、女性作家クリスチーヌ・ド・ピザンが戦った『薔薇物語』論争について検討する。「イブの娘」として罪深い者とされた中世の女性について宗教的・歴史的背景から考えてみよう。
導入の講義に続いて、作品の講読や検討、さらに学生発表を行う。期末レポートは関連する主題で各自が執筆する。一部フランス語の文章を使用。
