- To develop the skill of understanding French texts while grasping both grammar and context.
- To acquire knowledge of 18th-century French literature.
As an introduction to 18th-century French literature, we will analyze several epistolary novels. Specifically, we will study Montesquieu's Persian Letters, Rousseau's Julie, or the New Heloise, and Laclos' Les Liaisons Dangereuses. The aim is to analyze the function of the epistolary form as a literary device while reading these works. Additionally, we will explore the connections between seemingly unrelated themes such as "politics" and "sex." Depending on the participants' interests, the texts to be studied may be subject to change.

18世紀フランス文学への誘いとして、いくつかの書簡体小説を読解します。
具体的には、モンテスキュー『ペルシア人の手紙』、ルソー『新エロイーズ』、ラクロ『危険な関係』を講読する予定です。
これらの作品を読みながら、書簡体という文学的装置の機能について分析することを目標にしています。
また、「政治」と「性」のような、一見かけ離れたテーマの関連性についても考察する予定です。
参加者の関心に応じて、取り扱うテクストを変更する可能性もあります。
