Students will become familiar with critical writing by reading film reviews and critiques in French.
The course also aims to master the principles of language usage specific to articles and reviews.
Eventually, we are also looking to become stronger in the field of cinema, or art, which France prides itself on.
This course aims to develop students’ ability to critically read and analyze texts on the history and major works of the musical film as a genre within French cinema. By taking the French musical—whose trajectory differs significantly from that of Hollywood musicals—as a point of departure, students are expected to gain a broader understanding of the historical development of French cinema as a whole.
Through individual presentations, students are encouraged to articulate their analyses clearly and to engage in scholarly discussion.
In the latter half of the course, students will be guided toward more advanced and conceptually demanding works of film criticism, with the objective of strengthening their analytical and interpretative skills.

仏和辞書は必携（紙の辞書を優先）
パソコンないしタブレット端末も（授業中に検索を活用するシチュエーションもある予定）
フランス語で映画評を読むことによって、批評文に強くなる。
また、論文あるいは評論に特有の言いまわし原則などの習得を目指す。
最終的に、フランスが誇りとする映画、あるいはアート分野に強くなることも視野に入れている。

まず、フランス映画におけるジャンルとしてのミュージカル映画の歴史と作品を考察する文章を読んでゆく予定だ。ハリウッド映画とは異なる流れを持つフレンチ・ミュージカルを突破口として、フランス映画の歴史にも触れたい。
その際、個別発表を行ってもらう予定でいる。
また、授業後半は、もう少し難易度の高い映画の批評文にも挑戦してもらう予定だ。
