Through reading media articles written in recent years, students will enhance their vocabulary and improve their overall reading skills. Such practical application of their grammatical knowledge may help them to read similar texts, in the future, on their own initiative and according to their interests for further information or analysis.
Students will read articles (including interviews or essays) on current affairs published in French language news media. Various topics will be covered : society, culture, history, politics or economy. Sessions will start with press dispatches, and finish with longer articles. Focus will be on "reading directly in French" rather than "understanding via Japanese translation". Supposed to have prepared in advance, any of you will answer to questions in class.

授業時間外の学習は、1単位あたりの学修時間45時間に沿って以下を適宜配分してください。
予習：単語を調べ、読解を試みる（特に語義が多岐にわたる単語は要注意、文脈に適合する語義が辞書の上位項目で見つかるとは限らない）。機械翻訳を一助とする場合にも、成句も含めて必ず語句単位で照応を付け、文法知識をもとに構文を解析すること。そして徐々に自力で、文脈も踏まえながら解釈する経験を積み重ねてほしい。
復習：読解ができなかった部分、読み違えた箇所について、問題点（語義、比喩の解釈、構文、背景知識、等々）を自己分析する。また単語を記憶しようと努めてほしい。
備考：予習内容の提出を適宜求める。

仏和辞典を毎回持参。収録数と視認性から第一に紙の辞書、事前としては電子辞書が望ましいが、ネット上のアプリまたはサイトも可（ただし不足のおそれ大）。
近年に書かれたメディア記事を読み、語彙の拡充にも目を配りながら、総合的な読解力の向上をはかっていく。文法知識を実際に応用することで自分のものとし、この種のテクストを興味に応じて情報や考察の材料とするための足がかりとしてほしい。

フランス語のニュースメディアに掲載された時事的な記事(やインタビュー、評論) を読んでいく。社会・文化・歴史・政治・経済など幅広い分野をあつかいたい。最初は短信ニュースから始め、最後は長めの記事へと至る。「和訳を介して理解すること」よりもむしろ「そのまま原語で読むこと」を主眼としたい。授業時には予習を前提としてランダムに質問する。
