This course aims to provide a historical overview of the concept of literature in modern French philosophy, taking up several specific works to introduce their content in detail.
Each course meeting takes up an important novelist or thinker of French literature and philosophy and introduces and explains his theory. The texts are explained with background. Featured writer and thinkers: Proust, Sartre, Merleau-Ponty, Bataille, Rolland Barthes, Deleuze, Foucault, Paul Ricœur, Derrida, etc.

フランスの重要な思想家と作家をとりあげ、文学との関係を紹介、検討する。その際、作家や思想家の生の言葉に触れるように抜粋を読み、時代背景などもからめて解説していきます。取り上げる予定の主な作家、思想家：プルースト、サルトル、メルロー＝ポンティ、バタイユ、ロラン＝バルト、ドゥルーズ、フーコー、ポール・リクール、デリダなど
