This course will consider the testimonies and fictions surrounding the war and the formation of national memory by analyzing French literary works and films depicting the First World War.
While explaining the historical flow from the time of the Great War to the present, various authors and their works will be introduced.

第一次世界大戦を描いたフランスの文学作品や映画を分析しながら、戦争をめぐる証言と虚構、国民的な記憶の形成について考える。
This course will consider the testimonies and fictions surrounding the war and the formation of national memory by analyzing French literary works and films depicting the First World War.
大戦当時から現代にいたる歴史の流れを整理しつつ、さまざまな作家・作品を紹介する。前半は主として文学作品の抜粋、後半は映像資料を解説し，表象文化史的な観点から、戦争描写の変遷について論じる。
