The goal is to read the Manyoshu, Japan's oldest existing collection of poems, and understand the ancient people's views on the seasons and love affairs.We also aim to deepen our knowledge of ancient literature and acquire the ability to explain what we understand in an easy-to-understand manner.
I will take up Volume 1 of the Manyoshu. This volume contains "zouka" and was compiled with the reign of the Emperor clearly stated.We will be reading poems in public places in detail. We will complete assignments after each class and provide feedback at the beginning of the next class.

日本現存最古の歌集『万葉集』を読み進め、古代の人々の季節観や恋愛事情などを把握していくことを目標とします。また、古代文学に関する知見を深め、理解した内容をわかりやすく説明できる能力を身につけることも目標とします。

『万葉集』巻第１を取り上げます。この巻は、「雑歌」を収め、天皇代を明記しながら編纂されています。公的な場における歌を精読していきます。毎回授業後課題を実施し、次の回の冒頭にそのフィードバックをします。
