This course will focus on reading several scenes from The Tale of Genji in detail to deepen understanding of the work, while also learning perspectives and methods for interpreting the story.
The Tale of Genji depicts a variety of characters, but we will focus on several scenes featuring the ladies and interpret them. The class will begin with an overview of The Tale of Genji, and then move on to reading the story by focusing on the ladies depicted in The Tale of Genji. At the same time, we will deepen our understanding of the world of The Tale of Genji by touching on previous works and sources.

『源氏物語』のいくつかの場面を取り上げて精読し、作品の理解を深める。あわせて、物語を読み解く視座や方法を学ぶ。
This course will focus on reading several scenes from The Tale of Genji in detail to deepen understanding of the work, while also learning perspectives and methods for interpreting the story.
『源氏物語』には様々な人物が描かれているが、女君たちについていくつかの場面をとりあげて読み解いていく。 授業では、はじめに『源氏物語』の概説を行い、『源氏物語』に描かれる女君をとりあげて物語を読み進める。同時に、先行する作品や資料にも触れながら、『源氏物語』作品世界への理解を深めていく。
