To deepen understanding of waka and diary literature by reading waka poems from women's diaries established in the Heian and Kamakura periods.
Nine women's diaries will be discussed and an overview and characteristics of the works will be provided.It then explains the characteristics of the waka contained in the diary, the role that waka plays in the diary and the author's aims.Women's diaries are, so to speak, self-portraits painted in writing.We would like to consider how the author of each work tries to portray his or her life, with a focus on waka poetry.

平安から鎌倉期に成立した女流日記の和歌を読み解くことにより、和歌文学及び日記文学について理解を深める。
To deepen understanding of waka and diary literature by reading waka poems from women's diaries established in the Heian and Kamakura periods.
女流日記九作品を取り上げる。作品の概要・特徴を解説し、その上で日記に含まれる和歌の特徴、和歌が日記において果たしている役割、著者のねらいなどを解説する。女流日記は、いわば文字で描かれた自画像である。それぞれの作品の著者が自分の人生をどのように描こうとしているのか、和歌を中心にしながら考えていきたい。
