Deepening the understanding of performing arts while studying how modern Japanese theater has been shaped through its interactions with adjacent fields such as literature, fine arts, music, and film,
as well as contemporary society and history.
How did the history of modern Japanese theater come about? Through the history of Japanese theater since the Meiji period, students will understand the diversity and multifaceted nature of the theater genre, and learn about its relationship with adjacent fields such as contemporary literature, art, music, and film, as well as its relationship with society and history.

舞台芸術についての理解を深めるとともに、近代日本演劇が、文学、美術、音楽、映画等の隣接領域をはじめ、同時代の社会・歴史等とどのように関わりながら、形成されてきたのかを学ぶ。

近代日本演劇史はどのように成立してきたのか。明治期以降の日本演劇史を通して、演劇というジャンルの多様性と多面性について理解し、同時代の文学、美術、音楽、映像など隣接領域との関わり、社会や歴史とのかかわりを学ぶ。
