By concentrating on the link between literature and the visual image it creates, we will aim to grasp the depth and pacing of words and become able to express these features.
Many authors take inspiration from films and produce outstanding works of fiction. Also, there are instances of literature inspiring film directors, who go on to produce remarkable movies. In this seminar, by covering well-known short stories and capturing the visual image that literature creates, we will cultivate literary imagination. Meanwhile, we will learn how to use abstraction through the literature.
*If appropriate, the intention is to incorporate related films/videos.

文学と視覚的イメージのつながりに着目することによって、言葉の深度と速度を捉え、それを表現することを目標としています。
By concentrating on the link between literature and the visual image it creates, we will aim to grasp the depth and pacing of words and become able to express these features.
多くの作家は、映画から触発を受けて優れた創作をしており、また、文学が映画監督を触発し、優れた映画に結実することがあります。この演習では、よく知られた海外、日本の短編小説を交互に取り上げ、文学が醸し出す視覚的イメージを捉えることによって文学的想像力を養うのと同時に、文学からの抽象の仕方を学びます。
☆適宜、関連する映画作品を取り入れることを予定しています。
