【Course Objectives】

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
•recognize arguments in everyday media such as videos, advertisements, and social media
•explain how arguments are built using claims, reasons, and examples
•understand how media shape trust, audience, and persuasion
•discuss and debate different viewpoints clearly and respectfully

【Course Contents】

This course looks at how arguments appear in media such as videos, advertisements, social media, and popular culture. Students learn how to identify positions, understand how arguments are built, and examine how media influence persuasion. The course also explores how arguments affect people’s views, identities, and decisions. Through discussion, workshops, and presentations, students practice analyzing and debating arguments and applying what they learn to new situations.
