Notes

【Course Objectives】

Human Resource Management (HRM) should not be viewed only from a domestic perspective. A much more dynamic and international approach is required than one domestic human resource management. International Human Resource Management (IHRM) is becoming increasingly important to competitiveness and strategy in global business. It is very complex and difficult for IHRM to reach the optimal solution. The goal of this course is to provide students with the basic knowledge to lead to excellent solutions in IHRM.

【Course Contents】

Class content
This course covers most of the important topics of IHRM. You will learn both IHRM theory and practical cases. You will also learn some about HRM in Japan in international business.

Teaching Methods
Classes are conducted by lectures, student-instructor interaction, class discussions, individual homework and group exercises in small reports. We may also invite guest speakers with valuable experience and knowledge of IHRM.

Leveraging AI
Utilize some AI for individual reports, group work, and final reports on short case study issues from text and other topics. Through the exercises, you will become proficient in how to use AI productively, which is essential as a skill in the future.

Class Structure
Typically, half of the students in this course are international students. To make this course more valuable, the active participation of students from different backgrounds is very important.
