【Course Objectives】

Upon successful completion of the course, students will:
1) Obtain the basic understanding on why and how business and corporations globalize, and how macro and micro environment affects their business strategy and operations
2) Understand and be able to use theoretical frameworks for international business
3) Gain information and knowledge of current international business trends
Students will conduct a group project on a Japanese company entering a new foreign market, which will allow students to experience the application of international business theories and concepts learned throughout the course.

【Course Contents】

The IB-A and IB-B courses are taught entirely in English, supplemented by the ESP courses that support effective learning in the IB sessions. "International Business A (IB-A) and International Business B (IB-B) are run concurrently as a single 4-credit course. IB-A is taught on Tuesdays and IB-B on Fridays by two lecturers, one teaching mainly the first half and the other mainly the second half of the course. Guest speakers are invited to enhance the learning experience and group workshops are conducted to promote active learning. Details of assignments will be explained in SS1.
