In this seminar (both in Spring and Fall), students who already have some level of accounting knowledge will increase their knowledge and skills in the analysis of financial statements and corporate sustainable information. In addition to understanding how to obtain relevant information, students will work towards becoming able to unravel the story behind a company's numbers and performing advanced inter-company comparisons and evaluations, while understanding the techniques of financial statements analysis and disclosed corporate sustainable information .
This seminar primarily consists of reading and discussing texts on corporate financial statement analysis. We will read a relatively easy practical textbook written for stock investors. In groups, students will summarize and report the context of the text, then the instructor and other students will engage them with many questions and have multiple discussions. At the end of the seminar, each group will do a presentation making use of what they have learned up to that point (for example, financial analysis of domestic and foreign companies within a given sector). Technical terms related to financial accounting will be explained as needed.

本演習は（春学期と秋学期）、ある程度の会計知識があることを前提に、財務諸表とサステナビリティ情報分析の知識及びスキルを高めていく。どうやって情報入手するかを含めて、主要な財務諸表分析の手法や開示されるサステナビリティ情報を理解しつつ、数字の背後にある企業ストーリーを読み取り、高度な企業間比較や企業評価が出来ることを目標とする。

本演習は、基本的に財務諸表分析に関するテキストのグループ報告とディスカッションから成る。比較的実務寄りの株式投資向けの平易なテキストを精読していく。割り当てられた学生（グループ）は、テキストの内容をまとめて報告し、それに対して教員や別の学生による質問をもとに議論を重ねていく。講義の終盤には、各自がそれまで学んだことを生かして、グループでプレゼンテーションを行う（例えば国内外の同業複数社の財務分析など）。財務会計に関する専門用語は、必要があれば、その都度解説する。
