In this course, while acquiring the elementary knowledge of the economic history of Japan, other Asian countries and Europe, you will come in touch with the forefront studies of each field and various approaches of economic history.
History is an essential component of economics: Learning history, you can well understand the background of the current economic structure. Rather merely memorizing the events in the past days, this course will help you to comprehend how the economy has evolved until today. At the same time, you will get the picture of what topics are discussed on the frontiers of historical research.
The course is held in relay by two lecturers, who talk on a specific theme respectively.

日本，アジア，ヨーロッパの経済史に関する基礎知識を習得しつつ，各分野の研究の最前線はどのようなものなのかに触れる。高校までの学習では扱われない，経済の歴史の多様な考え方，アプローチの仕方を理解する。
In this course, while acquiring the elementary knowledge of the economic history of Japan, other Asian countries and Europe, you will come in touch with the forefront studies of each field and various approaches of economic history.
経済を学ぶうえで歴史は非常に重要です。なぜなら，歴史を知ることによって，今日の経済社会の成り立ちがはじめて理解できるからです。この授業では，単に過去の出来事を暗記するのではなく，経済がどのように動いてきたのかをとらえようとします。同時に，研究の最前線ではどのようなテーマが扱われ，議論されているのかを，入門的に学びます。
授業は前半7回と後半7回でテーマを分け，教員2人のリレー形式で担当します。テーマは教員によって異なります。
