In the second semester, we will read Adolf A. Berle, Gardiner Means“The Modern Corporation & Private Property”, which had revealed the "separation of ownership and management" in early 20th-century corporations. In each class session, students will report on the knowledge, insights, and questions gained from the reading of the literature in a resume.

この授業は、経済学を中心としたアカデミック英語を講読することで、現代のグローバル経済を理解するための基礎リテラシーの獲得を目指す。
This class aims to acquire basic literacy for understanding the current global economy through lectures in academic English focusing on economics.
情報が氾濫する現代社会においてじっくりと物事を考えることは容易ではありません。そのようなとき、古典と呼ばれるような著作はAnchorとして機能し、複雑に入り組んだ現象を見通すための有効な視座を我々に与えます。この授業では経済に限らず、現代の様々な問題を確固とした学問的営為から捉え直すことを目指します。後期では、20世紀初頭の株式会社における「所有と経営の分離」を解き明かしたバーリ・ミーンズのThe modern corporation＆Private Property（邦題『近代株式会社と私有財産』）を輪読します。毎回の授業ごとに各学生は、文献を読んで獲得した知識や考察、疑問をレジュメにて報告します。
