The goal of this course is to enable students to think about various issues facing our modern society from a historical perspective.
How have the world economies been linked through commerce and distribution? Why did Great Britain achieve industrialization first? Why are there rich and poor countries in the world? In this course, we will examine aspects of European economic development from the 15th century to the Industrial Revolution in England.

世界経済は商業や流通を通じてどのように結びついてきたのでしょうか。なぜイギリスは最初に工業化を達成したのでしょうか。なぜ世界には豊かな国と貧しい国があるのでしょうか。この講義では，15世紀からイギリス産業革命までのヨーロッパの経済発展の様相を検討します。
How have the world economies been linked through commerce and distribution? Why did Great Britain achieve industrialization first? Why are there rich and poor countries in the world?
