【Course Objectives】

In this course you learn the economic history of Europe from the 19th century to the present with particular regard to "economic growth" as well as "quality of life". You will be able to understand the historical background of the economy of "European Model " today.

【Course Contents】

Today, compared with the USA and China, European countries are not a big economic power in terms of GDP. However, the European economy is often regarded as a model from which we can learn a lot. Many believe that Europa is successful in making the economy grow and the quality of people's life better at the same time. How was the model of European economy established? Should it be actually regarded as an ideal economy? We consider these questions by leaning the economic history of modern Europe since the 19th century.
Each lecture consists of 20 minutes livestream (introduction, answer to questions etc.) and 50-70 minutes lecture video (the rest time you can use for assignment).
* Depending on the situation, the whole lecture can be delivered live.
