In this lecture, we will study the historical development process of the Japanese economy from the World War I period to the period of high economic growth.The objectives of the course are as follows.
(1) To understand some characteristics of Japan's economic development.
(2) To be able to explain those characteristics and individual historical events using important terms, concepts, and theories.
In this course, we will overview the development process of the Japanese economy chronologically, paying attention to the state of politics, international relations, and society in each period. The main topics will be macroeconomic issues such as institutions, policies, trade, and industries of each period, but we will also cover issues such as the transformation of people's work and lives as much as possible.

日本語を第一言語としない場合，大学授業レベルの日本語能力が求められるほか，日本の歴史（とくに近現代史）に関する知識があることが望ましい。
本講義は，春学期開講の日本経済史1を前提としているので，日本経済史2のみを履修する場合にはその点に注意すること。
授業内容は履修者の理解度・関心などにより変更される場合がある。
本講義では，第1次世界大戦期から高度経済成長期までを対象として，日本経済の歴史的展開過程について学んでいく。
到達目標は以下の2点である。
①日本の経済発展に関する諸特徴を理解すること
②その諸特徴や個別の歴史事象について，重要な語句や概念，理論などを用いて説明することができるようになること
In this lecture, we will study the historical development process of the Japanese economy from the World War I period to the period of high economic growth.The objectives of the course are as follows.

本講義では，日本経済の展開過程について，各時代の政治・国際関係・社会のあり方にも留意しながら時系列に沿って概観していく。扱うトピックは，各時代の制度や政策，貿易や産業などマクロな論点が中心になるが，各時代を生きた人々の労働や生活の変容といった論点についても可能な限り取り上げたい。
なお，秋学期の日本経済史2のみを履修する者がいることを前提に授業は展開されるが，本講義は春学期開講の日本経済史1を前提としている点に注意すること。
