The objective of this course is to understand the concept of market failures and the role of the public sector.
Public Economics is the field of study to analyze the role of the public sector in the economy.
This course covers the following topics: (1) market mechanism efficiency and market failures, (2) effects of taxation and price regulation, (3) natural monopolies and public regulation, (4) externalities and government intervention.
