The purpose of this course is to explore the political issues associated with specific environmental problems, and to learn practical methods for analyzing those issues using economic techniques. In addition, students will also learn the significance of using economics techniques in political analysis.
In this class, specific environmental problems, such as pollution, waste, and global warming, will be brought up and in addition to considering the current states and problems, students will learn methods for analyzing these problems using economics techniques. In addition, during the lecture the issues related to applying economic theory to actual government policy will be considered. The lecture will only deal with a limited variety of environmental problems, but the economic concepts learned in this lecture can be applied to the broader environmental issues.

具体的な環境問題を題材に，その政策的な課題を探るとともに，経済学的手法を用いてその課題を実践的に分析する手法を学ぶことを目的とする。また，政策分析に経済学的手法を用いることの意義についても考えていく。

公害問題，廃棄物問題，地球温暖化問題などの具体的な環境問題を取り上げ，その現状と課題を整理することに加え，それらの問題を経済学的な手法を用いて分析する方法について学んでいく。また，講義では経済学の理論を実際の政策に応用する際の課題についても検討する。なお，講義では限られた種類の環境問題を扱うが，本講義で学ぶ経済学的な考え方は他の環境問題にも応用可能なものである。
