You will be able to understand development issues that could not be improved through economic development alone, and understand social development analysis methods for these development issues.
In this lecture, we will learn about social development, which is a new analytical method for improving the lives and society of developing countries, in contrast to existing development that emphasizes economic growth. Therefore, we will consider trends in social development, focus on gender inequality, and understand it through many case studies.

経済開発だけでは改善できなかった開発課題を把握するとともに、これらの開発課題に対して、社会開発がどのような分析手法を提示しているのかを理解する。
You will be able to understand development issues that could not be improved through economic development alone, and understand social development analysis methods for these development issues.
本講義では、発展途上国の経済成長に主眼を置いた既存の開発に対して、途上国の人々の生活および社会を改善するための新たな分析手法として注目される社会開発について学ぶ。まず、社会開発の潮流を考察した上で、実際に途上国が直面している主要な課題としてジェンダー不平等に着目し、より具体的な事例を紹介することで、学生の理解を深めたい。
