More than 40 years have passed since China's reform and opening-up. Reforms focused on the planned economy system and the state-owned enterprise system, while opening up focused on the introduction of foreign capital and access to global markets. The result has been sustained rapid growth that is rare in the world. By examining the history, reality, and interrelationships between economic growth and institutional change in China, and by understanding the mechanism of China's economic growth, we can recognize the impact of China's economic growth on the world economy as a whole and on the Japanese economy.
This lecture is based on historical, institutional, and political economics perspectives on the mechanisms and institutional reforms of economic growth in China, the world's second-largest economic power and Japan's largest trading partner. Specifically, we will take up the various problems facing China's economic system, which is shifting from high economic growth to low growth and stable growth, such as technological competition, economic growth, labor, the environment, and disparities, and give a lecture on the mechanisms, reality, and transformation of these problems.

秋学期に開講する『中国経済政策論』講義とあわせて受講することを推奨する。
中国の改革開放から40年以上が経過した。改革は計画経済体制や国有企業制度などを中心に、開放は外資の導入や世界市場へのアクセスを中心に行われた。その結果として世界で稀にみる持続的な高度成長がもたらされた。中国における経済成長と制度変化の歴史、実態、および両者の間の相互関係を考察し、中国経済の成長の仕組みについて理解することを通じて、中国の経済成長が世界全体や日本経済に及ぼす影響について認識することができる。

本講義では、世界第二位の経済大国であり、日本の最大貿易パートナーである中国における経済成長のメカニズムと制度改革について歴史的、制度的、政治経済学の視点に基づいて講義する。具体的には、高度経済成長から低成長・安定成長に転換しつつある中国の経済システムが直面しているさまざまな問題―技術競争、経済成長、労働、環境、格差など―を取り上げ、その発生メカニズム、実態、変容について講義する。
