To correctly understand the diversity of the relationship between the market (economy) and the state (politics) and China’s peculiarities by considering the economic policies that have supported China’s high economic growth and social transformation and grasping the response the Chinese government has taken for the socioeconomic problems that are becoming increasingly complex with globalization.
An overview of basic economic policy theory will be given and then the contents, background, impact, and issues of the policies regarding China’s socioeconomic development will be discussed in detail from a political economy perspective. In particular, the actual conditions and issues of policies for economic growth and stability, work-life balance, and social fairness will be explained through comparisons with Japan and other advanced countries.

中国の高い経済成長と社会変容を支える経済政策を考察し、グローバル化の深化に伴い複雑化する社会経済の諸問題に中国政府が如何に対応しているかを把握することを通じて、市場（経済）と国家（政治）の間の関係の多様性、および中国の特殊性を正しく理解することができる。

経済政策論の基礎的知識を概括しつつ、中国の社会経済発展に関わる諸政策について、その内容、背景、影響、および課題を社会経済学（Political Economy）の視点から詳細に講義する。特に、経済成長と安定化、ワーク・ライフバランス、ならびに社会的公正を巡る政策の実態と課題について、日本などの先進国の事例と比較しながら解説する。
