In Money and Banking, students will understand the structure and trends of the modern economy through the study of financial mechanisms and financial phenomena. One goal of Money and Banking 2 is for students to be able to understand the theoretical foundations of finance: interest rates, prices of financial assets, and risk. Another goal is to be able to explain in your own words the transformation of Japan's financial system and the challenges it faces.
Today, financial products, investment methods, and financial players have become increasingly diversified and complex. It makes our lives richer, but it also sometimes causes market turmoil and crisis situations that disrupt economic activity. In this lecture, students will deepen their understanding of non-bank financial institutions and investment products, especially interest rates, rates of return, and risks. Students will then learn about the crises and challenges the Japanese financial system has experienced and attempts to stabilize the financial system.

金融論では、金融の仕組みや金融現象の解明を通して、現代経済の構造や動向を理解します。この授業のひとつの目標は、金融に関する理論的な基礎である利子率や金融資産の価格、リスクについて理解できるようになることです。また、日本の金融システムの変貌や直面する課題について自分の言葉で説明できるようになることをもうひとつの目標とします。

現代では、金融商品や投資の方法、金融の担い手が多様化・複雑化しています。それは私たちの生活を豊かにもしますが、ときに市場の混乱や金融危機を引き起こして経済活動をかき乱したりしています。この講義では、銀行以外の金融機関や投資商品に焦点を当て、利子率や収益率、リスクについての理解を深めます。そのうえで、これまで日本の金融システムが経験してきた危機や課題を取り上げ、金融システムを安定化させようとする試みについて学びます。
