To "analyze the activities of nations, companies, and individuals from an economic perspective and envision the society of the future," the aim is to understand—from a historical standpoint—what "companies" and "individuals" were thinking and how they acted.
This course examines "history" in a broad sense, focusing on perspectives from socio-economic and business history.
While reading and discussing foundational texts in economic and business history, participants will identify key issues from various perspectives—such as politics, religion, and culture—and engage in discussions among students and faculty. Depending on student preferences, activities may also include group work, fieldwork, and presentations on themes related to the subject matter.

FWに向けた課題の設定や、研究課題については授業時間内において時間を取る予定にしているが、各自授業時間外での準備を行う必要がある。

「国と企業と個人の動きを経済という視点から分析し、次の社会を構想する」ために、歴史的な視点で主に「企業」や「個人」が何を考えて、どう行動したのかを理解することを目指す。

社会経済史・経営史的な視点から、広義の「歴史」を取り扱う。
基本的な経済史・経営史的な文献を輪読しつつ、様々な視点（政治、宗教、文化など）から論点を見出し、学生・教員間での議論を行う。その際、受講生の希望も聞きながら、上記に関連するテーマでのGW (グループワーク)、FW (フィールドワーク)、プレゼンテーションを行う場合もある。
＊受講生の数や興味関心によって、多少変動する可能性がある（初回授業で受講生の希望や意向を聞きながら具体的な内容を詰める予定にしている）
