This course aims to learn about collecting data or materials and organizing them into a form that we can analyze through survey research.
Survey research is a process of measuring or analyzing people's behaviors and attitudes based on scientific procedures. In this course, to acquire survey research literacy, we learn the techniques and methods such as collecting data and constructing datasets for statistical analyses. Specifically, as the theoretical aspects of survey research, we understand the types of social surveys, survey planning and design, creating hypotheses, making questionnaires, survey target setting, and sample size and error in random sampling. As practical aspects, we learn the actual survey procedure, construction of survey datasets, basic statistics of the dataset, and making codebooks.

統計調査論1を履修していないことを前提に授業を進めますので、統計調査論1の未履修者も歓迎します。
本授業は統計学、社会調査、量的調査の初学者にも理解できるように具体例やイメージを多く示しながら授業を進めます。これらの分野に苦手意識がある履修者も歓迎します。
社会調査によって資料やデータを収集し、分析しうる形にまで整理していく具体的な方法を理解する。
This course aims to learn about collecting data or materials and organizing them into a form that we can analyze through survey research.
社会調査とは、社会における人々の意識や行動を科学的な手続きに基づいて測定・分析するプロセスである。本科目では、社会調査リテラシーを身につけるために、社会調査によるデータの収集・構築や、基礎的な集計などの手順と方法について解説する。具体的には、社会調査の理論的側面として、社会調査の類型、調査企画と設計、仮説構成、調査票の作成、調査対象の設定、無作為抽出における標本規模と誤差を学ぶ。また社会調査の実践的側面として、実査の手順、調査データの構築、調査データの基礎的な集計方法とコードブックの作成について学ぶ。
