To give an outline of the theory of social research and for students to understand the social research techniques such as the construction of hypotheses and design of questionnaires. The objective of this course is for students to acquire practical methods of data collection and analysis from the planning and design of the survey, and to understand the theory and methods of the scientific social research, including of quantitative surveys, so that students can independently design surveys. The goal is to acquire investigation literacy by acquiring the technique of data collection for fact recognition which is the basis of each research activity.
In this class, we will aim to systematically learn about the series of processes involved in social research, in particular, the creation, collection, analysis and consideration of the results of social research data.
Students will set their own research themes and clarify them using statistical methods. In class, students will submit a mid-term report and a final report.
There will be lectures on social survey methods and statistical analysis methods, as well as time for presentations and discussions.
This year, the research subjects will be university students, and we will aim to clarify the various issues that university students face, particularly from a social science perspective (economics, sociology, education, psychology, etc.).

本授業では、大学生を研究対象者に設定し、主に経済学、社会学、教育学、心理学、政治学に関わる問いを統計的手法を用いて明らかにしていくための素養を体系的に身に付けていくことを目指した授業となります。
統計に関する高度な前提知識は求めていませんが、統計的手法を用いた実証分析に高い関心があることが要求されます。併せて、授業では、統計ソフトを用いたデータハンドリングに関する基礎知識についても学修します。
また他の受講生や担当教員との質疑・応答も多い授業となるため、他者の報告に対しても積極的にコメントができることが求められます。
決して簡単な内容ではなく負荷も大きい授業ですが、きちんと取り組めば統計的に社会問題を分析し、考察する力が飛躍的に向上しますので、そうした力を身に付けたい方を歓迎します。

社会調査の理論を概観するとともに、仮説の構築や質問紙の設計など、社会調査の技法を理解する。調査の企画・設計からデータの収集・分析に関する具体的な方法などを身につけ、量的調査をはじめとした科学的な社会調査の理論と方法について理解することで、独力で適切な調査のデザインができるようになることを目標とする。各自の研究活動の基礎となる事実認識のためのデータ収集の技術を身につけ、調査リテラシーを身につけることをねらいとする。

本授業では、社会調査に関する一連のプロセス、具体的には社会調査データの作成、収集、データの分析、結果の考察について体系的に学んでいくことを目指す。
受講生は、各自が研究テーマを設定し、調査票を作成し、統計的手法を用いて実証的に解明する。授業では中間報告書と最終報告書を提出する。
授業では、社会調査の手法や統計分析の手法について講義を行うだけでなく、研究報告やディスカッションの時間も含まれる。
本年度は、大学生を研究対象に設定し、特に社会科学的視点（経済学、社会学、教育学、心理学など）から、大学生の抱える諸問題について明らかにしていくことを目指す。
In this class, we will aim to systematically learn about the series of processes involved in social research, in particular, the creation, collection, analysis and consideration of the results of social research data.
Students will set their own research themes and clarify them using statistical methods. In class, students will submit a mid-term report and a final report.
There will be lectures on social survey methods and statistical analysis methods, as well as time for presentations and discussions.
