(1) To engage in the study of economics in English within Malaysia, a multi-cultural South-east Asian nation where Malays, Chinese and Indian peoples live together in harmony, and where various religions such as Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Christianity are practiced.
(2) To experience Malaysian traditional culture while focusing on the interconnections between culture and business practices.
During the spring semester, preparatory lectures will cover Malaysia's history, politics, economy, and regional context. Building on this foundation, the on-site training program conducted during the summer vacation period will feature English-language instruction, lectures on Malaysian economic conditions (including development, finance, and industrial policy), the interplay between culture and business, site visits to relevant enterprises, and presentation exercises—all delivered entirely in English. In addition, participants will engage in local cultural events and activities. Students who participate in this course will have the opportunity to experience this unique interplay of 3 major civilizational cultures in one country, while learning English and Malaysian economy.

配布資料をCanvas LMSやgoogle classroomを通じて配布する。また、ディスカッションの際にその場で情報検索を行う場合がある。そのため、パソコンやタブレット端末、スマホを持っていることが望ましい。
福島の担当回は日本語による講義形式、ウォンの担当回は英語によるディスカッション形式での授業となる。
授業計画は、現地情勢やUSMからの要請、事務方の進捗等によっては順番や内容が変更になる可能性もある。
（１）東南アジアに位置し、マレー人、華人、インド人らが調和して共存しつつ、イスラーム、仏教、ヒンドゥー教、キリスト教など多様な信仰が実践されているマレーシアにおいて、英語で経済を学ぶ。
（２）マレーシアの伝統文化に触れるとともに、文化とビジネスとの結びつきに焦点を当てる

春学期中の事前講義では、マレーシアの歴史、政治、経済、地域の事情等について学ぶ。それを踏まえて、夏季休業期間中の現地研修において、英語授業、マレーシア経済事情（開発、金融、産業政策等）および文化とビジネスの結びつきに関する講義、事業所見学、プレゼンテーション演習等を全て英語で実施する。それに加えて地域の文化行事等に参加する。本授業に参加することで、英語とマレーシア経済を学びながら、一つの国における三つの主要文化の独自の相互作用を体験する機会を得られます。
