To understand the dynamism of the industries and companies supporting China's economic growth and development, and to grasp their actual conditions. To plan and conduct field research on Japanese companies operating in China. The goal is to cultivate the various abilities (such as critical thinking, planning, initiative, and communication skills) that Japanese multinational corporations seek in new graduates.
This seminar explores the microfoundations of China's economic development, specifically the evolution of industries and enterprises underpinning its growth. The teaching approach combines literature review with practical field research through active learning. Specifically, the first phase involves close reading of texts analyzing China's economic development and corporate management to acquire fundamental knowledge.In the second stage, students will plan field research visits to companies in China (including setting themes and content, selecting companies, and forming groups), and conduct field research visits to Japanese companies operating in China during the summer vacation period. In the third stage, students will write reports summarizing the results of their field research visits and give presentations (group work will be conducted in addition to individual research).In the fourth stage (3rd and 4th years), students set themes related to China's economic development and corporate management, based on learning and research questions identified during the field visits and report writing process. They then conduct research and analysis to compile their graduation reports.

2年生は、夏休みの期間中に中国（2026年度は上海・蘇州）へ行き、現地に進出している日系企業の訪問調査を行う。期間は約1週間、費用は15万円程度を予定している。現地調査には、原則すべてのゼミ生の参加を求める。
企業見学等を実施する場合、先方からの求めによって氏名などの個人情報を提供することがあります。
中国の経済成長と発展を支える産業と企業のダイナミズムを理解し、その実態を把握する。中国現地に赴き、中国に進出している日系企業の訪問調査を企画・実施することを通じて、グローバル経営を行っている日系企業が新卒者に求める即戦力（思考力、企画力、推進力、コミュニケーション力など）を養うことを目標とする。

このゼミでは、中国の経済発展のミクロ的ファンデーション、すなわち経済成長を支える産業と企業の発展について学ぶ。授業方法としては、文献研究と企業調査の実践を組み合わせたアクティブラーニングを実施する。具体的に、第一段階では、中国の経済発展と企業経営について分析した文献（テキスト）を精読することを通じて、基本的な知識を習得する。第二段階では、中国現地での企業訪問調査を企画（テーマと内容の設定、企業の選定、グループ分け等）し、夏休み期間中に「中国に進出している日系企業の訪問調査」を実施する。第三段階では、企業の現地訪問調査の成果をまとめた報告書を作成し、プレゼンテーションを行う（個人研究とは別にグループワークも行う）。第四段階（3、4年生）では、現地企業の訪問調査と報告書の作成過程で明らかになった学習・研究課題を念頭に、中国の経済発展と企業経営に関連するテーマを設定し、研究分析し、卒業レポートをまとめる。
