【授業の目標 / Course Objectives】

経済学をつくり上げてきた基本的文献に親しみながら，経済学の歴史とともに，経済学が抱える現代的課題について考え，研究するゼミナールです。単に経済学の教科書を学ぶのではなく，自分の頭で経済について考え，自分の力で経済が抱える問題を見出し，解決に向けて考える力を涵養することが，このゼミナールの目標です。

This is a research seminar in which students will become familiar with the basic literature on which economics was built while also looking at the history of economics and thinking about the contemporary issues faced by economics. The objective of this seminar is for students to not only learn about the economy from textbooks, but to think about the economy on their own, to identify problems facing the economy on their own, and to develop the ability to think about solutions for these.

【授業の内容 / Course Contents】

このゼミナールでは，これまで，経済学をつくり上げてきた様々な基本的文献（アダム・スミス著『国富論』，トマス・ロバート・マルサス著『人口論』，ウォルター・バジョット著『ロンバード街』，ジョン・ステュアート・ミル著『自由論』などなど）を読みながら，経済学のそもそもの成り立ちと目的を考え，そのうえで，現代が抱えるいろいろな経済問題を読み解くためのさらなる文献や主張を取り上げてきました。2020年度後半から2021年度前半にかけては、ケインズの『雇用、利子および貨幣の一般理論』をゼミナールの基本文献としました。今年度も，春学期では経済学の基本文献，秋学期では経済学が抱える現代的課題について学びます。さらに秋学期には，対抗ゼミナールでの発表のための研究報告を行ないます。そして最後に，ゼミナールのほぼ毎時間，自らのプレゼンテーションがより有効となるためのディベート力を高める時間をつくる予定です。

This seminar students will read various fundamental literature on which economics was built (Adam Smith’s The Wealth of Nations, Thomas Robert Malthus's An Essay on the Principle of Population, Walter Bagehot's Lombard Street, and John Stewart Mill's On Liberty, etc.) while thinking about the formation and purpose of economics. In the second half of 2020 and the first half of 2021, we have been reading Keynes's General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money. During the current academic year as well, students will read fundamental literature on economics during the spring semester and learn about contemporary issues facing economics during the fall semester. Further, during the fall semester students will give research reports for presentations at the counter seminars with other universities. Finally, almost every hour of the seminar, we plan to create time to increase your debate ability to make your own presentation more effective.

【授業時間外（予習・復習等）の学修 / Study Required Outside of Class】

１．ゼミナールで取り上げる経済学の基本文献については，全員が事前に必ず当該範囲を読了し，そして報告者との討論の材料を各自作成しておくこと。
２．基本文献の中に出てくる著作や，授業内に示される参考文献について，事前的・もしくは事後的に調査し，必要があれば次の討論に生かすこと。
３．ディベートにとって適切な主題・派生的問題を考え，ディベートが活発になる工夫を試みること。

夏合宿（国内）を行ないます。また秋学期には関西の大学と対抗ゼミナールを行なう予定でおります（これまでの通常年度では，秋学期に，立教大学または京都にて関西学院大学経済学部および同志社大学商学部との合同ゼミナールを行なってきました）。
