To learn the fundamental concepts of comparative political economy while comparing approaches to building decarbonizing, disaster-resilient communities that can cope with global warming, aging, and other challenges.
In this seminar students will learn about the comparative political economy of environmental and energy challenges. To respond to such issues as global warming, areas throughout the world are accelerating a paradigmatic shift to smart and resilient urban development. Characteristics of this paradigm shift include regional revitalization through the integration of public policy, stakeholders, and critical infrastructure. Students will study the development of Japanese smart cities from an international perspective.

比較政治経済学の基礎概念を学びながら，地球温暖化や超高齢化といった課題に対して脱炭素で災害に強いまちづくりのあり方を比較する。

このゼミにおいて環境・エネルギー政策の比較政治経済学について学習する。地球温暖化等の課題が、世界各地におけるカーボンニュートラル型スマートでレジリエントなまちづくりへのパラダイムシフトを加速している。このパラダイムシフトの特徴のうち、政策レジーム、ステーキホルダーや社会資本ネットワークの連携により地方創生という目的も目立っている。国際的観点からみた日本における街のスマート化を学習する。
