The purpose of this seminar is understanding and anlysing the models of economic development of Europe and Japan from the comparative and historical perspective.
We study what are (were) the features, or, differences in the economic development of Europe and Japan from the historical perspective.
Our focus will be on "regional industries", "cities" and "entrepreneurs".
We carry out our research in the following way:
1. Reading, analysing, and discussing relevant literature and source materials.
2. Undertaking group researches on certain themes.
3. Conducting fieldwork.
4. Holding joint seminars

「比較」と「歴史」の視点から経済発展の仕方を理解し，分析できるようになる。
とくにヨーロッパと日本の経済発展に関する知見を深める。
英語（希望があればその他のヨーロッパ言語）による情報収集能力を身に着ける。
The purpose of this seminar is understanding and anlysing the models of economic development of Europe and Japan from the comparative and historical perspective.
ヨーロッパと日本では，経済発展の仕方にどのような特徴があり，似ている部分や異なる部分はどのようなところにあるのか，とくに歴史的なアプローチから研究し，明らかにします。
「地域産業」，「都市」，「商人（企業）」などに着目します。
具体的な内容としては，大まかに以下のようになります。
１）文献や資料の調査・報告・議論をする（英語や歴史的資料も含みます）。
２）グループで特定のテーマを設定して研究をする。
３）１～複数回，実見やフィールドワークを行う。
４）合宿その他で他大学との合同ゼミの機会を設けます。
＊英語（希望があればその他のヨーロッパ言語）を用いて情報収集するトレーニングも行いますが，参加者の語学レベルに配慮します。
