To learn the terminology and concepts that are fundamental to politics and then to consider the political problems and incidents occurring in the world from a historical perspective. The objective is to recognize and make determinations about the current situation by logically organizing these problems.
This course consists of three stages.
1. Learn the concepts of democracy, liberalism, authority, and state that form the foundation of politics.
2. Based on the above knowledge, students will consider current problems occurring in the world, such as terrorism, populism, refugees and immigrants, the rise of right wing parties, infectious diseases, and Ukraine crisis, and the political relationship to globalization and new technologies that are closely related to them.
3. In the last class of this academic year, we will consider liberal democracy which is regarded as shaking a lot now.
Students will consider these things within the broad framework of where we who live in these unstable and uncertain times are positioned historically and in which direction we are heading.

・ リアクションペーパーについては、毎回フィードバックを行います。
政治学の基礎となる用語や考え方を学んだ上で、現在、世界で起きている政治の問題や出来事を歴史的な視点から考察します。それらの問題を論理的に整理することによって、状況を認識する力、判断する力を養うことを目標とします。
To learn the terminology and concepts that are fundamental to politics and then to consider the political problems and incidents occurring in the world from a historical perspective. 三つの段階から構成されています。
１. 「民主主義」「自由主義」「権力」「国家」といった政治学の基礎となる概念について学びます。
２. 上記の知識を踏まえて、現在、世界で問題となっている「テロリズム」「ポピュリズム」「難民・移民」「右翼政党の台頭」「感染症」「ウクライナ危機」、そしてそれらと密接に関係する「グローバリゼーション」や新しいテクノロジーの関係について考えていきます。
３．本年度は、最後に今日大きく揺らいでいるとされる「リベラル・デモクラシー」について検討します。
不安定で不確実な時代に生きる私たちが歴史的にどのような位置に立っているのか、どのような方向に向かっているのか、という問いを大きな枠組みの中で考えていきます。
