Students are expected to learn the diverse planetary atmospheres in the solar system as well as the space missions and observational techniques.
Atmospheres play key roles to shape the planetary environments. Students learn the basic physics and chemistry of the atmosphere through comparisons of the planets in the solar system. Space missions and observational techniques that enhanced our knowledge will be studied with special focus on Venus and Jupiter from the latest mission results.

惑星の環境を形づくるのに重要な役割をなす大気について、太陽系惑星の比較からさまざまな在りようを知り、そうした違いを生じる物理的・化学的背景を学ぶ。人類の知見を推し進めてきた探査と観測の手法について学ぶとともに、特に金星・木星については最新の成果についても見識を深める。
