DNA manipulation has a wide variety of uses in various fields. They play an important role in medicine, agricultural science, pharmaceuticals, and engineering, among other fields. In this course, students will learn the fundamental techniques necessary to manage experiments with DNA. In addition, they will learn how to interpret data and write reports.
Focusing on DNA extraction and purification, reactions of nucleic acids with various enzymes, and analysis via agarose gel electrophoresis, students will conduct fundamental experiments in molecular biology and molecular genetics, applying the knowledge they have acquired from their lecture courses.

DNAを扱う操作は，理学のみならず，医学，農学，薬学，工学等の広範な生物科学分野で，多種多様な場面で広く行われている。DNAの実験操作の基礎技術を習得するとともに，実験結果の解釈の仕方やレポートの書き方などを身につける。

DNAの抽出と精製，DNAの各種酵素による反応，アガロースゲル電気泳動による解析を中心に，分子生物学・分子遺伝学の基礎的実験を行い，講義科目で学んだことを実地に理解する。
