・Students will understand the basic circulation mechanisms of biological resources and be able to explain the key points of biological resource management.
・Students will understand the basic theory of circular economy and be able to apply this theory to important topics (food waste, plastics, etc.) and explain the challenges and solutions.
・Students will understand the laws and basic technologies related to the field of waste resource circulation and be able to evaluate circular economy initiatives using life cycle thinking.
This course explores the circular economy, a way to efficiently utilize the Earth's limited resources and minimize waste. This course explores the fundamental concepts of the circular economy, a new economic model that replaces the traditional "disposable" economy, and explores sustainable management methods for resources throughout their entire life cycle.
In the circular economy, waste reduction, recycling, and reuse are considered from the product design stage, and it is important to build a system that circulates resources without waste. Specific topics include recycling technologies, reuse, repair, upcycling, closed-loop design, and technological innovations that create resources from waste. We also cover policies and corporate initiatives to promote resource circulation, as well as examples of circular business models in industry (such as the sharing economy and product-as-a-service).
Students will also learn about resource management for plastics, metals, electronic waste, and food waste, and the associated reduction of environmental impacts, and consider methods for balancing economic development and environmental protection. Students aim to understand practical approaches to a sustainable economic system and acquire the knowledge and skills to promote resource circulation. (Omnibus format / 14 episodes in total)

限りある地球資源を効率的に利用し、廃棄物を最小化するための循環型経済（サーキュラーエコノミー）について学ぶ科目である。この授業では、従来の「使い捨て」型経済に代わる、新しい経済モデルであるサーキュラーエコノミーの基本概念を理解し、資源のライフサイクル全体における持続可能な管理方法を探る。
サーキュラーエコノミーでは、製品の設計段階から廃棄物の削減、リサイクル、再利用が考慮され、資源が無駄なく循環するシステムを構築することが重要である。具体的なトピックには、リサイクル技術、リユース、リペア、アップサイクル、クローズドループの設計、廃棄物から資源を生み出す技術革新などが含まれる。また、資源循環を促進するための政策や企業の取り組み、産業界での循環型ビジネスモデルの事例（シェアリングエコノミーやプロダクト・アズ・ア・サービスなど）も取り扱う。
さらに、プラスチックや金属、電子廃棄物、食品廃棄物などの資源管理と、それに伴う環境負荷の低減についても学習し、経済発展と環境保護のバランスを取るための手法を考察する。学生は、持続可能な経済システムに向けた実践的なアプローチを理解し、資源循環を促進するための知識とスキルを身につけることを目指す。
